Why should I clean my roof?

Now as you may well know, after time our roofs can inhabit moss and algae growth. This not only looks unattractive but also has the ability to cause structural damage and reduce it’s lifespan. 

Larger moss areas will retain water, which is surprisingly heavy when wet. Then during the colder season’s the trapped water will freeze and expand causing the tiles to crack. This then allows your roof structure exposed to the elements possibly causing materials to rot. 

If you have moss growing on your roof, then it’s time to do something about it to avoid expensive repair costs!

Another positive from having a moss free roof is preventing your gutters and down pipes from being blocked and to freely drain away water. Birds love to encourage moss to fall into gutters and onto the floor.

SCRAPING PROCESS

Firstly, We will remove the worst of the moss with our selection of steel scraper blades that are profiled to fit the shape of your tiles. Once the moss is eradicated from your roof, we clear all gutters, any blocked downpipes and drains before spraying. 

Secondly, We apply a HSE Approved Biocide solution that will absorb into the tiles and start breaking down the remaining organic growth and lichens. 

The nature of this treatment will act as a preventative against moss developing again for up to several years. 

I recommend another biocide application after 3 years to keep your roof moss free and looking good. 

PRESSURE WASHING

The process for this method will give a more instant clean result with regards to your original tile colour. 

Working from a mobile scaffold tower, your roof is carefully cleaned using our machine set at the correct pressure to remove the moss, algae and years of dirt. 

The guttering is always disconnected to avoid any blockages during the cleaning process and we use tarpaulin to catch as much waste as possible. 

The second phase applies by finishing with a biocide treatment to remove any stubborn lichen spores and to prevent moss regrowth for up to several years.

Gutter and Fascia Cleaning

Thanks to our powerful industrial standard vacuum. We can unblock your gutters that have built up with moss, leaves, twigs and other obstructions safely from ground level. Boasting a generous reach of up to 3 storeys high, we can easily access those hard to reach locations such as above a conservatory. 

Keeping your gutters clear will prevent water damage to your properties structure and a clogged up gutter can mean roof leaks that can lead to other problems within the building.

Window and Conservatory Cleaning

Another service we offer is window and conservatory cleaning. We can clean all frames, sills & glass more effectively as we have a constant supply of pure water. We use our purified water system which helps remove impurities from the glass whilst being cleaned. 

What Is The Benefits of Purified Water?

The great thing about pure water is that once in contact with the glass the water immediately looks for dirt, dust and other particles and once bonded, are easily removed during the rinsing process. The pure water air dries in a matter of minutes to leave a crystal clear finish. As opposed to normal tap water that contain impurities and would leave visible hard water or white spotting stains.

Driveway Re-Sanding

Inevitably when you clean a block paved area, you will lose some of the original jointing sand where the weeds and moss have grown. Once your block paved driveway is nice and dry, we re-sand with kiln dried sand. 
This sand is very fine and should be swept into the joints adding strength and rigidity to the area.

If this isn't done then you risk the blocks sinking and becoming uneven, especially when vehicles are coming and going.

Patio Joint Restoration

Some surfaces that have been down for sometime may require some re-jointing work and even more so after a good clean using our pressure washer! 

The existing cement joint could be cracked, loose or even missing making your area unsightly and encouraging weed growth. 

We offer the option of using an All Weather Jointing Compound that is easily swept and washed into the joints. This effective product can help prevent weed growth, leave an aesthetically pleasing appearance and you can choose between different 5 colours.
